If you've come this far, Thank You! Here you'll find a little bit of information on what I would like to build for the community of Reno.
Growing up in Reno, there has always been something missing; An art scene. Not just any ol' art scene, but and all inclusive supportive space to create and make art that also serves our youth housing projects, and underprivledged kiddos! In many major cities you will find this is very common, and although the art scene in Reno has increased wonderfully over the past 7 years, we are still just barely there.
Teaching Art has always been a passion of mine, but providing a studio space for kiddos, adults, for everyone to be able to express themselves through a healthy and creative outlet would be a dream come true. In the beginning this may only start out as a ceramic studio but as we grow, so will the art mediums and classes offered. I believe everyone is an artist, and we just need the space and the encouragement to allow the artist in us to shine. Alot of us out there get told "NO. You are not/should not/can not be an Artist" and it kills the artist in us. But you can be creative and artsy, you can be an artist whether its a carreer or just for fun, You Can Be An Artist!
I have been an Art Teacher for the last 13 years, the past 7 being a ceramics teacher. You want to learn, and I want to teach you, so lets make this magic happen!
Heres some recent exciting news! I found a temporary, small space to hold some classes and private lessons. Now, heres the bummer news: I will only be able to have 4 wheels in there, meaning WE NEED A BIGGER SPACE!! SO heres the scoop... This temporary space will serve a great purpose for holding small classes and saving up for a bigger spot, but I still need your help Reno!
